Based in Paignton on the beautiful English Riviera, Bays Brewery is a family-run brewery that has been creating exceptional, multi-award-winning beers inspired by its hometown of Torbay since 2007. Founded by brothers Mark and Peter Salmon alongside their brother-in-law and head brewer Will Freeland, Bays has built a reputation for brewing quality beers that showcase the very best of Devon.
Crafted the Devon way, Bays' award-winning range includes its much-loved flagship ales, Topsail, Pure Gold and Devon Dumpling, alongside innovative craft beers such as Devon Rock Lager, Devon Cove Pale Ale and Rock Steady low-alcohol lager. The brewery also champions fellow Devon producers through its Devon Drinks collection, offering a carefully selected range of local wines, ciders, spirits and soft drinks.
Community and sustainability are at the heart of everything Bays does. Rooftop solar panels help power the brewery, supported by a green energy tariff, energy-efficient cooling systems and heat recovery processes. Spent grain is collected by a local farmer to feed livestock, spent hops are reused by local gardeners and allotments, and spent yeast is sent to an anaerobic digestion plant to generate renewable energy. The brewery also sources a significant proportion of its ingredients locally, uses biodegradable and reusable event cups, and continues to explore more sustainable packaging solutions.
As passionate supporters of their local community, Bays' popular Charity Brew programme has raised tens of thousands of pounds for Devon charities and conservation projects, while long-standing partnerships with organisations including Paignton Zoo help support wildlife conservation both locally and globally. From sponsoring local events to flying the flag for Devon through its beers, Bays Brewery remains committed to keeping it local, keeping it sustainable and delivering a true taste of the South West.
