Cottage Beer Project Limited is a Devon-based nano‑brewery producing small‑batch, bottle‑conditioned beers from its rural base at Brewer’s Cottage, Timewell Hill, near Tiverton, on the edge of Exmoor National Park. Established in 2020 and brewing commercially since April 2021, the brewery has quickly built a reputation for excellent flavour, traditional styles and environmental responsibility.
Small‑Batch Brewing with Big Character
Cottage Beer Project focuses exclusively on bottle‑conditioned beers, a traditional production method that allows flavour, aroma and texture to continue developing naturally in the bottle. This approach delivers beers with greater flavour complexity, a smoother mouthfeel, a Longer shelf life, and an experience closer to cask ale, without filtration. All beers are vegan‑friendly, made using natural finings, and brewed with water drawn from the brewery’s own borehole deep beneath the Devon hills, contributing to their distinctive character.
A Carefully Curated Range
The core and seasonal range showcases classic British beer styles, brewed on a very small scale to maintain consistency and quality. Beers include:
- Hit for Six – Copper IPA
- Panther – Black IPA
- The Gatherings – Session Amber Ale
- Rambler – Premium amber ale
- Doodle Pale, Old English Goat, and seasonal specials such as Mild Boar
Production is intentionally limited, reinforcing the brewery’s commitment to craftsmanship over volume.

Cottage Beer Project has earned widespread recognition from industry experts and judges:
- Best New Drink Product 2024–25 at the Food Drink Devon Awards (Panther – awarded Platinum)
- SIBA South West Regional Category Champion (Speciality IPA), December 2025 (Panther), qualifying for the National Indie Beer Awards 2026
- Multiple products achieving Platinum recognition at regional judging panels
Judges have praised Panther for its “complex flavour and aroma with a clean, long finish”.
