We are a family-run micro dairy based in North Devon. Our herd consists of 18 mixed-breed dairy cows. They are fed a foraged-based diet with additional feed sourced locally. The cows are milked once a day and spend the rest of their time either in our species-rich grassland or on our homegrown rape and kale field. In the winter, weather permitting (they do not like rain or snow!), we try to turn them out for a few hours daily (our princesses have been known to vote with their feet during inclement weather!).We are a cow and calf dairy. This means that after calving, the cows keep their calves until weaning at approximately 4-5 months old.The milk produced is pasteurised on-site, bottled in glass bottles, and sold as whole, semi-skimmed, or skimmed. The bottles are collected from customers, then sterilised and reused. We also produce pouring cream, clotted cream on request, and butter.
