Harry's Restaurant
Member Overview
A true Exeter institution, Harry’s Restaurant has been “feeding the soul” for more than 30 years, earning its place as one of the city’s most‑loved dining spots. Set in a striking Victorian red‑brick, gothic‑style building—formerly Harry Hems’ 19th‑century sculptors’ workshop—Harry’s blends heritage charm with warm, modern hospitality.

Founded by the Pounds family in 1993, Harry’s remains proudly independent and family‑run, now in its third generation, offering the kind of heartfelt, neighbourhood dining experience that keeps locals and visitors returning year after year.

Seasonal, Local & Honest Food
Harry’s is known for its robust, hearty, no‑pretension cooking—a menu grounded in seasonal ingredients, regional suppliers and classic crowd‑pleasing dishes. The team champions local farms and producers, with suppliers including Emma’s Bread, Darts Farm, Lyme Bay Winery and Orange Elephant Ice Cream. All meat served is 100% Devon‑reared, carrying the South West Quality Meat Certificate.
The restaurant’s philosophy of “Farmer’s Field to Food on Forks” runs through everything they do, with a focus on animal welfare, low food miles, sustainability, and community support—including long‑standing partnerships with St Petrock’s.
