Member Overview
Hunts Cider is one of Devon’s oldest and most respected cider makers, with over 200 years of heritage in the heart of the South Devon countryside. Founded in 1805 by N.P. Hunt, the business is now run by the 8th generation of the Hunt family — siblings Richard and Annette — who continue the tradition of crafting authentic, full‑flavoured ciders using apples grown in their own orchards at Broadleigh Farm, Stoke Gabriel near Totnes.

Hunts Cider uses only the highest‑quality Devon cider apples, pressing and fermenting fresh bittersweet apple juice each autumn. Their process combines traditional cider‑making methods with modern equipment to ensure consistently excellent flavour while preserving the character of true West Country cider.

The range includes still, sparkling and fruit ciders, all of which are gluten‑free and vegan‑friendly. In 2024, Hunts launched a new line of Fruit Ciders — Elderflower, Mango & Passionfruit, and Raspberry — crafted to be light, refreshing and perfect for summer sipping.

The site during the summer, with guided Wednesday tours running through June–August. These include a behind‑the‑scenes look at the cider‑making process and generous tastings. A small on-site shop is also open on weekdays.
