Award‑Winning Devon Dairy Crafted from Grass‑Grazed Jersey & Guernsey Cows
Langage Farm is one of Devon’s best‑known artisan dairy producers, based near Plympton, Plymouth, where cream, ice cream, yoghurt and cheese are made on site using milk from the farm’s own pedigree Jersey and Guernsey herd. With a working farm history stretching back centuries and a modern creamery rooted in sustainability, Langage Farm is synonymous with high‑quality Devon dairy.

A Farming Family with Deep Devon Roots
Langage Farm’s story is deeply embedded in Devon’s landscape, with the farmstead referenced as far back as the Domesday Book of 1086. The modern dairy enterprise began in the late 20th century, evolving into a multi‑award‑winning creamery that remains firmly family‑run.
Today, the farm spans approximately 280 acres of lush Devon countryside and supports a herd of around 250 Jersey and Guernsey cows. These breeds are prized for their rich, creamy milk, giving Langage products their distinctive texture and flavour.
From Cow to Cone – Made on the Farm. Unlike many large‑scale dairies, Langage Farm controls the entire process – from grass and milk to finished product. Milk is produced by their own herd and processed in the on‑site creamery, where products are made by hand by a skilled local team.

The range includes:
  • Devon Clotted Cream – one of Langage’s best‑known products
  • Fresh and double creams
  • Luxury yoghurts and natural yoghurt
  • Cottage and curd cheeses
  • Ice creams, frozen yoghurts and sorbets, with over 40 flavours produced throughout the year
This close connection between land, animals and production is central to Langage’s appeal.

Renowned for Ice Cream & Clotted Cream
Langage Farm ice cream is particularly celebrated for its luxurious mouthfeel and bold flavours, created using high‑cream milk and traditional dairy science. Classics such as vanilla, honeycomb and strawberries & cream sit alongside more adventurous flavours and seasonal specials.
Their Devon Clotted Cream has become a staple for tea rooms, cafés and home bakers across the county and beyond, widely recognised as one of the finest examples of the style.

Sustainability & Carbon‑Neutral Production
Langage Farm is widely recognised as a pioneer of sustainable dairy production. The business operates as a carbon‑neutral dairy, supported by its own anaerobic digestion (AD) facility.
  • Converts production waste and local food waste into renewable energy
  • Supplies electricity and heat to the creamery
  • Produces bio‑fertiliser used on the farm’s fields
  • Can generate enough power to supply up to 500 households
This closed‑loop system reduces waste, improves soil fertility and supports long‑term farm resilience.

Local, National & International Reach
Langage Farm products are stocked by:
  • Local cafés, restaurants and farm shops
  • Major UK supermarkets
  • Online retailers and cream‑by‑post services
  • Selected international customers
Despite this wide reach, the business remains strongly rooted in Devon values, employing local people and maintaining close ties to the regional food community.
