Owens Organic Coffee is an award‑winning, independent coffee roaster based in South Devon, renowned for crafting exceptional 100% organic, Fairtrade-certified coffee since 2010. As the first dedicated organic coffee roaster in the South West, Owens has built its reputation on ethical sourcing, sustainable practices, and uncompromising flavour.
Every batch is roasted at their custom-built roastery in Ivybridge using a cutting‑edge, smoke‑free Loring roaster, which reduces energy use by up to 80% while delivering clean, consistent, and richly flavoured results. Their beans are meticulously selected from high‑altitude, shade‑grown Arabica farms that use organic agricultural methods, supporting both biodiversity and the development of long‑ripened flavour.
Sustainability sits at the heart of the Owens ethos. The team partners directly with ethical estates and farming cooperatives worldwide, ensuring full traceability and fair prices for producers — a commitment reflected in both their Organic and Fairtrade certifications. Their dedication to responsible sourcing has earned them multiple accolades, including the Best Organic Coffee in the UK for their signature Gara blend at the Soil Association’s BOOM Awards.
Today, Owens supplies cafés, retailers, and hospitality venues across the UK, while also serving a growing community of home‑brewers through flexible subscriptions and their on‑site roastery café. Their Owens Coffee Academy offers hands‑on barista training, tasting experiences, and brewing masterclasses, helping coffee lovers and professionals elevate their craft.

Perfect Waves Café at The Roastery
Owens Coffee’s on‑site café — officially called Perfect Waves Café — acts as the public face of the roastery, giving visitors a welcoming, contemporary space to enjoy organic speciality coffee roasted just a few metres away.
Perfect Waves Café offers:
- Freshly roasted organic, Fairtrade speciality coffee, a full menu of teas, including Devonshire Tea and Perfect Waves infusions. Light meals, cakes, pastries and local produce and Coffee beans, pods, brewing equipment and gifts for sale
The café provides both indoor and outdoor seating, a friendly barista team, and plenty of parking thanks to its convenient location next to Endsleigh Garden Centre, just off the A38 at Ivybridge
