Roly’s Fudge Pantry is a much‑loved artisan confectionery brand originating in Devon, famed for its traditional crumbly fudge, handmade daily in full view of customers. First established in 1987, Roly’s Fudge began in a Devon farmhouse kitchen and has grown into a network of independently run, family‑owned fudge pantries across the UK, all united by a commitment to craft, quality and heritage.
Rooted in Devon Tradition
Roly’s Fudge was founded when its creators returned to the old‑fashioned, artisan method of fudge‑making, using a large copper cauldron and a generations‑old family recipe. That same year, the first Roly’s Fudge Pantry opened in Torquay, where queues formed as visitors watched fudge being stirred, poured and cut by hand through the shop window.
More than 35 years later, the method remains unchanged. Every batch is still:
- Made in copper pans
- Poured onto marble slabs
- Cut and wrapped entirely by hand
- Produced using natural ingredients, with no artificial colourings or additives
Independently Run Pantries
While widely recognised as a national brand, every Roly’s Fudge Pantry is independently owned and family‑run, giving each shop its own personality while preserving shared standards of quality and tradition. Together, these pantries keep regional high streets vibrant and support hands‑on food craftsmanship.
Roly’s roots remain firmly in the South West, with multiple pantries across Devon, including Plymouth, Dartmouth, Salcombe, Exeter, Barnstaple, Ilfracombe and Sidmouth.
Live Theatre of Fudge‑Making
A defining feature of Roly’s Fudge Pantry is the theatre of live production. Customers are encouraged to watch the entire fudge‑making process unfold in the shop window, from boiling sugar and butter to the dramatic moment when the fudge crystallises and sets.

A Wide Range of Flavours & Gifts
Roly’s Fudge is best known for its Vanilla Clotted Cream fudge, but each pantry offers a rotating selection of classic and seasonal flavours, often including:
