Sandridge Barton – The Home of Sharpham Wine
Discover Sandridge Barton, an exceptional vineyard estate on the banks of the River Dart—bringing together 45 years of Dart Valley winemaking, Michelin Guide‑listed dining at ROAM, and beautifully appointed countryside accommodation. Set within 450 acres of rolling hills, rare soils and a sheltered maritime microclimate, this award‑winning estate is a must‑visit destination for food and wine lovers exploring Devon.
A New Chapter for a Devon Wine Icon
Sandridge Barton became the new home for the former Sharpham Wine in 2022, continuing a winemaking legacy that began in the Dart Valley more than four decades ago. Today, CEO and head winemaker Duncan Schwab leads the team alongside winemaker Charlie Brown, crafting wines that celebrate the unique conditions of this beautiful South Devon valley.
Visitors can enjoy:
- The renowned Dart Valley Reserve, one of the UK’s most-loved white wines. Single-vineyard bottlings and traditional method sparkling wines. Contemporary and experimental releases, including the low-intervention Don’t Feed the Ponies series. Limited-edition styles such as Sandridge Barton’s take on Beaujolais Nouveau. Every bottle reflects the vineyard’s long, cool growing season, south-facing slopes and river-cooled climate—ideal for varietals such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Bacchus, Madeleine Angevine, and Chardonnay.
ROAM – Michelin Guide‑Listed Dining on the Estate
Located at Lower Well Farm, ROAM is an independent, family-run restaurant led by restaurateur and chef Ian Alexander, supported by front-of-house lead Miles Tuddenham, and more recently Ian’s son, Noah Alexander.
ROAM’s style is a relaxed, modern bistro with Mediterranean influences—drawing inspiration from family memories of Spain and Italy while celebrating Devon and wider West Country produce. Ingredients are grown, raised or foraged as close to the estate as possible. Expect generous cooking and ever‑changing menus. ROAM also hosts a rotating programme of guest chef events, collaborating with Ian’s event arm, Cru.
