South Devon Chilli Farm is an award‑winning chilli grower and producer based near Loddiswell in the South Hams, specialising in seed‑to‑sauce chilli products grown, made and packed on site. Established in 2003, the farm grows over 200 varieties of chilli, creating a nationally recognised range of sauces, preserves, chocolates, dried chillies, seeds and plants that celebrate flavour as much as heat.
Seed‑to‑Sauce Philosophy
At the heart of South Devon Chilli Farm is a commitment to doing everything in one place. Chillies are:
- Grown on the farm using carefully managed, largely pesticide‑free methods
- Harvested by hand at peak ripeness
- Turned into products on site, using natural ingredients and minimal processing
This seed‑to‑sauce approach gives full control over quality, flavour and sustainability, while ensuring complete traceability from plant to finished product.
A Huge Range of Chilli Products
South Devon Chilli Farm produces an extensive and distinctive range, including:
- Chilli sauces from mild to extremely hot
- Preserves, jams, chutneys and jellies
- Chilli chocolate, including drinking chocolate and bars
- Fresh, dried and powdered chillies
- Chilli seeds, seedlings and growing equipment
All products are available for free tasting in the farm shop, encouraging customers to explore flavour profiles and build confidence with heat.
Growing & Education
In addition to making products, South Devon Chilli Farm is a centre for chilli-growing knowledge. From late March, the nursery sells chilli seedlings and plants, with fruiting plants available through the summer.
The farm also runs:

The Show Tunnel & Visitor Experience
The farm is a free‑to‑visit attraction, welcoming visitors year‑round. A highlight is the Show Tunnel, planted annually with up to 200 varieties of chilli plants sourced from around the world, offering a colourful and immersive display from late spring through autumn.
