The Cheese Shed is one of the South West’s leading champions of Westcountry artisan cheese, offering more than 130 varieties from across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset. Founded in 2006 as an online cheesemonger, it has grown into an award‑winning business known for its exceptional range, customer service, and unique approach to cheese retailing.
In 2021, The Cheese Shed opened its bricks‑and‑mortar shop in Bovey Tracey, transforming the regional cheese scene with a purpose‑built, temperature‑ and humidity‑controlled environment that doubles as a cheese maturing room.

The Shop: A Working Maturing Room
The Bovey Tracey shop is unlike a typical deli:
- Whole cheeses stacked on the counter and floor‑to‑ceiling shelves
- Kept at 10–13°C with controlled humidity
