Member Overview
A Much‑Loved One‑Stop Eatery at the Gateway to North Devon
The Depot is a food‑led bar, restaurant and café located at Mullacott Cross, Ilfracombe, serving locals, holidaymakers and travellers throughout the year. Originally established in 1949 as a filling station and café, The Depot has evolved into a thriving, welcoming venue that combines great food, relaxed dining and a strong focus on local produce in one distinctive space.

From Roadside Café to Community Favourite
Standing at one of North Devon’s key crossroads, The Depot has been a familiar stopping point for generations. Under the ownership of the Good Food & Drink Company for over twenty years, the business has grown into a modern yet informal eatery that remains firmly rooted in its original role: a dependable place to eat well, unwind and feel welcome.
Today, The Depot attracts a mix of locals, families, walkers, surfers and visitors heading to or from the coast.

All‑Day Dining with Local Roots
The Depot describes itself as a “one‑stop eatery”, combining café, bar and restaurant under one roof. Food is served throughout the day, from breakfast right through to evening dining.
  • Breakfasts and brunch, from full cooked breakfasts to eggs, avocado and lighter options

The kitchen places strong emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients, keeping menus approachable, generous and family‑friendly.

Sustainability also plays a role, with measures in place to reduce waste and recycle food waste back into energy for the local grid.
