Their team has travelled across the county to find the best local produce—bringing together the richness of Devon’s fields, farms and artisan makers under one roof.
 
Expect hearty, flavour‑packed eats—from melt‑in‑the‑mouth shortbread and fresh paninis to luscious cream teas. Vegan and gluten‑free options are thoughtfully crafted and available daily.

Founded in 2019, the café was created to be a community space rooted in great coffee, local heritage and Mid Devon’s rural lifestyle. “The Steamer” name pays homage to a 1906 traction engine accident that happened at Five Bridges—an affectionate tribute to the area’s heritage woven into the identity of the café.
