Torview Wines is a small, family‑run vineyard and winery based at Beara Farm near Sheepwash in Beaworthy, Devon. Sheltered by the tors of Dartmoor, this award‑winning vineyard produces soft, fruity, oak‑matured wines with a focus on sustainable, regenerative vineyard practices.
Founded in 2007 and managed by owners Tim and family, Torview Wines is unusual among English vineyards for its strong focus on red wine production, supported by the unique microclimate created by the Dartmoor tors, which reduces rainfall and encourages full ripening.
Grape Varieties & Wine Styles
Torview Wines grows classic cool‑climate red grape varieties, including:
- Pinot Noir
- Rondo
- Dornfelder
- Acolon
- Pinot Noir Précoce
The vineyard produces a range of wines:
- Still red wines – soft, fruity, oak‑aged and award‑winning
- Light summer reds – refreshing, served chilled
- White, rosé and sparkling wines (produced in smaller quantities during cooler years
All Torview wines are dry, well‑balanced, fruit‑forward, and vegan‑friendly, often bottled unfiltered for depth and character.
Regenerative, Nature‑Led Viticulture
Torview is well‑known for its distinctive approach to vineyard management, using regenerative, low‑intervention practices:
- Encouraging natural weed growth beneath vines to manage nutrients
- Reduced trimming and almost no use of weedkiller
- Lower need for spraying
- Increased biodiversity throughout the vineyard
This sustainable approach creates healthier soils, robust vines, and high‑quality fruit—allowing Torview to produce fully ripe, expressive red wines in warm years.

A guided 90‑minute experience including:
- Walk through the vineyard with seasonal updates
- Discussion of the year’s weather impacts
- Winery tour showing equipment and winemaking options
- Tutored tasting of three wines
- Time to relax, on-site picnics welcome
- Family‑friendly & dog‑friendly on leads
Winemaking Days
Participants can:
- Hand‑pick their own grapes
- Crush and press fruit
- Customise with yeasts, sugar or oak
- Return later to bottle still wine or disgorge sparkling wine
A unique hands‑on way to create six bottles of your own wine.
